You probably don't notice the way you sit, or the way you slouch your back or shoulders when you're out and about during the day. But did you know this bad habit will lead to back pain? What's worse than waking up on a Monday morning, going to work and the first thing you feel when sitting down is that sharp ache in your back from years of bad posture? I can't think of something worse...
Today I'm going to focus on posture. My clients tell me all the time about their aches and how their body hurts after sitting in a weird position, but the two most common issues that come up are: back pain & bad posture, but I do have a solution that's a quick remedy!
Hint: It doesn't require me hounding you to sit up straight every time I catch you slouching.
I want you to watch this video that I made talking specifically about posture, and how to fix it. It's only 2 minutes long, and I promise you doing this stretch will help mitigate back pain for years to come.
Remember, bad posture doesn't fix itself over night, but stretching and utilizing this exercise daily (especially if you're going to be sitting for a prolonged period) will help mitigate and reduce your bad posture. I want you to commit yourself to doing this every other day, or even every time you're at the gym - it's to build good habits and prevent your posture from worsening.
Let me know if you found this useful! I hope this motivates you to take a good hard look at your posture and asking yourself if the pain you're experiencing is worth having another day. Feel free to reply directly here to chat with me. I am more than happy to help you on your path to a more fit lifestyle.
